Victor Georgievich Veselago,
Honored professor of the department of applied physics (faculty of problems of physics and energetics) of Moscow Physical and Technical University, Doctor of Science in physics and mathematics.
Chief of the laboratory of magnetic materials of the department of strong magnetic fields of Prokhorov Institute of General Physics of Russian Academy of Sciences.
Notable scientist in the field of physics of magnetic phenomena. He achieved great scientific success by studying, in particular, the problems of materials with negative refraction. He grounded theoretical foundations of this field of study in pioneer works of 1966–1968.
In 1993 he founded the “Infomag” service which distributes among scientists tables of contents of scientific and technical journals and foreign scientific electronic bulletins. Since 1998 he actively manages the electronic scientific journal “Researched in Russia”, which he created.
He is a winner of the USSR State Prize. In 2001 he was awarded the “Honored Scientist of Russian Federation” title. For his series of works “Basics of electrodynamics of media with negative refraction ration” he was awarded V. A. Fok Prize.
